The very first iPod nano from 2005
Steve Jobs introduced it asking "Ever wonder what this pocket is for?" pointing to his 5th little jeans pocket - well, I was more thinking of a pocket watch, but an iPod seems like a good choice too.
I got it second-hand sometime in 2021 for cheap.
The click wheel and the button in the middle are a little beat up, but they still function.
The front is made of plastic, which got changed for the following generations, where they use aluminum or have a full-display front. The plastic scratches easily.
As with all iPod nanos, the biggest limitations are battery health and build-in storage. The battery still holds a charge, but I plan to attempt a swap. The 2GB are filled up quickly, so it's a focused music library.
I put Rockbox on it, which adds a lot settings and ways to customise.
